Studio Marolin Sculptures
Since the year 1900, Paper Mache/Porcelain sculptures have been created in Germany by the renowned Studio Marolin. Expert mold makers maintain and improve the antique molds. These antique molds were buried over the past 40+ years and only recently recovered with the fall of the Berlin Wall. The ingredients of the the Marolin family's turn-of-the-century recipe supports today's ecological concerns.
Each figure is cast from a paper mache/porcelain mixture and requires approximately one to three weeks to produce. The sculptures are hand-finished and finely hand-painted, demonstrating the artist's masterly skill and love of detail.
