Kuehn Bavarian Pewter Collection
Pewter ornaments have a history going back hundreds of years. Ornaments made of pewter have been dated back to 500A.D. These pieces are real pewter, cast of tin and gold (no lead). The pieces are etched out of pieces of slate using metal tools. Standing pieces that are two-sided require two molds to be made. Each piece is polished repeatedly and delicately hand-painted. All the work is still done by hand--no machines are used in the process. We carry a very large assortment from a variety of artists and families in Germany. To me the Kuehn Christmas Bells are the most amazing. Their sound is just as I remember it as a child, when my Mother rang the Christkindles Bell to let us Children know, that it was now ok to enter the CHRISTMAS ROOM.I am 80 years old now and I still remember it fondly.
